This wall and sidewalk are a combination of Pressure and Soft Washing. Pressure Washing to lift the dirt and mildew off the surfaces, Soft Washing to kill any residue that is left over so it does not come back.
We ran out of daylight, so we fired up the generator and work lights for this Church job that turned out great!
In the picture below you can see immediately just how much of a difference a good cleaning can make. The bottom concrete has been cleaned, however the dark brown area has not.
The job below was pretty tricky. We were asked to clean a half metal, half stone building. There was a decent amount of mold, algae, and lichens that had built up over the years that needed to go.
The challenges came in the fact that the top half of the building is metal and there were plants at the bottom that the owners had worked years to grow.
As tough as metal siding is, it requires gentle cleaning techniques to ensure that it is not damaged during the cleaning process. Too much pressure and you can blast paint and coatings off the siding. Apply the wrong chemical and you can etch or oxidize the metal. Add to the fact that some of the cleaning agents generally used are not plant friendly and we had a delicate situation on our hands.
When done correctly though, we were able to restore beauty to this flight school building that we were pretty proud of.
